So…..we got lazy. Well, maybe not lazy, just really lost in (and playing) with time…so much so that: (a) the only pictures we took from our Feb., Mar. & April Think & Drinks were of food (and only two pictures at that — each of the same edible array from one shin-dig. How embarrassing…so we chose not to include them!!) and (b) we are not creating three postings of our dialogical shenanigans but, instead, one long list below highlighting some of the questions raised over the course of the wintery months, as well as which three we chose to explore in further detail. Bon Voyage…and May the Force Be With You.
Some Questions Raised
-
Has the internet changed how we think — structurally and morally? If so, how?
-
Are small, personal actions enough to affect real and lasting change?
-
Does “more information” necessarily equal “more knowledge and less ignorance?” What is “knowledge” anyway?
-
How does one find/maintain balance with a desire to live authentically with the need to make your way in a society with values that might not line up? Both philosophically and personally?
-
Why does history keep repeating itself?
-
Has there ever been a truly free market in any society? Can we really every be “free” (economically and otherwise)?
-
Are change and constancy really at odds with one another and what is their role in our lives?
-
Is what we do actually meaningful? If so, how do (or can) we measure it? Via personal interpretation? By the “ripples”? Can ‘meaning’ be spoken of objectively?
-
Are facts dead? Can they ever really be?
-
How can a society nurture a cultural environment that values intellectual curiosity? Is this important? And, if so, why?
-
Does intellectual property really make sense? Can an idea truly ever be our “own”?
-
Is discomfort (in the end) a more desirable place to be than comfort? Is their value in discomfort?
-
Does intent really matter if the outcome is the same?
