This graph depicts some of the most influential thinkers of western philosophy. It was created by Simon Raper (of Drunks & Lampposts) and maps various philosophers’ direct lines of influence with one another over time. Based on this model, each philosopher is a node in the network and the lines between them (or edges in the terminology of graph theory) represent lines of influence. While the graph is a certainly a work-in-progress and lacks in certain areas (e.g., it does not include indirect lines of influence nor direction of influence), it provides a very helpful overview.
