Our October 2017 MWA staff Philosophy Walk took place on Mount Helena amidst unseasonably warm weather — almost 70 degrees! Clad in way too many layers (we were expecting cold!), our group set-off for a walk and talk about conservation & preservation, environmental ethics, technology, beauty, wilderness, and epistemology.
We also enjoyed mini-discussions in-between walk stops about personal experiences with wilderness, what drew staff members to their work at MWA, current focus at MWA, and exercises aimed at creating opportunities for critical, creative thinking and imagination.
Thank you to Montana Wilderness Association and Education & Outreach Manager, Amanda Hagerty, for the wonderful opportunity to lead an MWA staff philosophy walk. What a great crew!
