Thank you so much to the Helena Area Community Foundation for their support of our philosophy in the community program, home to numerous free activities that get us thinking together and learning from and with one another! – Marisa Diaz-Waian, Director of Merlin CCC
About Our Philosophy in the Community Program(s)
Our programs are free to the public and support critical, creative thinking, the exchange of ideas, and the application of philosophy to everyday life. More broadly, they are opportunities for people of all backgrounds and ages (from children to elders) to gather, to learn from and with one another, and to uniquely cultivate their personal and civic selves.
Regardless of where philosophy happens, the practice of philosophy and philosophical thinking is important and valuable. Individually, philosophy can help us address life experiences – replete with its challenges, opportunities, pains, joys, and more – with a keen mind and heart. In other words, philosophy can help us respond to the world and our experiences in ways that help us thrive. As a society, philosophy can help us do the same on a collective level. — Marisa
About the Helena Area Community Foundation
The Helena Area Community Foundation inspires people to make a difference by encouraging the spirit of giving to provide resources that benefit present and future generations in our communities. The Helena Area Community Foundation was created by current and former residents of the Helena area to support the projects of nonprofit organizations in Helena and surrounding area communities through annual grant-making. This is accomplished through private contributions, planned gifts and grants, which help maintain our permanent endowment and help facilitate the operation of our organization. The steady growth of HACF’s permanent endowment is attributable to the generosity of many individuals, families and businesses throughout the Helena Area and beyond. Learn more about HACF here!
