What Our 2020 CARES Act Relief Grant from Humanities MT Helped Fund

2020 has been a difficult year.  With the onset and impact of COVID, all of us — organizations and individuals alike — have had to do find ways to adapt, adjust, and stay afloat.

We are extremely grateful to Humanities Montana and the National Endowment for Humanities for awarding our organization a $5,000 CARES Act Grant earlier this year.  Their rapid-response relief funding provided operational support to our non-profit (and so many others) during an extreme time of need.  Thank you so much!!

The grant funds were part of the CARES Act passed by Congress in March, which included $75 million for the National Endowment for the Humanities, approximately $30 million of which was sent to fifty-six state and territorial humanities councils — Humanities Montana being among those — to redistribute to humanities nonprofit organizations in need.  Here is what their relief grant helped to fund.

Many Thank You’s…

Humanities Montana is an independent, nonprofit affiliate organization of the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) that provides support for educational and cultural public programs throughout the state.  They were established in 1972 and are one of fifty-six councils across the nation that the National Endowment for the Humanities created in order to better infuse the humanities directly and effectively into public life.  Their mission is to serve communities through stories and conversation by offering experiences that nurture imagination and ideas, and speaking to Montanans’ diverse history, literature, and philosophy.
